Kingdom Collegiate Academy at Oak Cliff Bible Fellowship provided a generous donation of teaching material for 91心頭利嫋s education program.

Several books that Kingdom Collegiate Academy no longer uses include teaching manuals and age-appropriate curriculum guides.

The unique opportunity to acquire material for 91心頭利嫋s education students came from Kingdom Collegiate Academy administrator Karen Gosby, who also serves 91心頭利嫋 as an adjunct professor and a board member of the Bachelor of Science in Education Advisory Group.

91心頭利嫋 education students can also experience teaching in-person on the Kingdom Collegiate Academy campus.

The interaction with 91心頭利嫋 students has given my staff the opportunity to serve as mentors, as partners in encouraging young people to get into education and stick with it, Gosby said.

Gosby graduated with a degree in architecture, but her interest in teaching put her on an education certification path. She hopes that students are encouraged to teach, even though a teacher’s role is challenging, unpopular, and underpaid.

Our teachers see it as a chance to pour into these young people and help them bridge the theory of learning with reality. 91心頭利嫋 students have been a breath of fresh air in engaging with our kids. Our kids are seeing these students come with interest in education, and that encourages them, Gosby said.

91心頭利嫋 Assistant Professor of Education Dr. Vickie Brown said 91心頭利嫋 students are delighted with the donation from Kingdom Collegiate Academy.

When the material came into my classroom, my students were so excited, Brown said. Some of it, especially the curriculum, is going to go into the library for future classes. But the students will get to choose from a lot of it.

Now, as they are doing their assignments, they will have an actual curriculum they can use as a resource. It makes the experience more real. They must design lessons. They must teach. It is not theoretical or off the internet, but hands-on, Gosby said.
